Dear ACO Families,
We hope that you and your loved ones are all in good health. As we reopen our offices, we would like to give you an update on what to expect over the next few weeks. Even though we acknowledge that our daily lives will be very different going forward, our commitment to the safety of our patients and our staff has not changed. During the COVID-19 shutdown, we have been modifying all of our procedures to keep our patients and staff safe.
As a dental office, we have always followed strict infection control procedures. During the office closure, we have modified certain procedures to conform with the current recommendations by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
At your next appointment, you may notice the following procedures:
Disinfection – Frequent sanitizing of surfaces has always been part of our regular procedures. We have adjusted our disinfection protocol to include areas such as door handles, front desk surfaces at more frequent intervals.
Screening – We will text you a brief screening questionnaire which you will need to respond to before your appointment. We will also screen patients when they arrive. We encourage you to reschedule your appointment if you or a family member might be sick or have been in close contact with someone who is sick. All of our staff are screened prior to work.
Virtual Waiting Room – When you arrive for your appointment, please wait in your car and text or call us at our main number (732)308-0022 (both Manalapan and Freehold offices) to let us know that you have arrived. We will text you back when we are ready to seat you.
Colgate Peroxyl Rinse – All patients in treatment will be given Colgate Peroxyl rinse upon arrival which may help to temporarily reduce germs in the oral cavity.
Visitors – Patient should enter the office alone (or with one parent/guardian). We ask that siblings, friends and other guests please wait outside.
Mask – You must wear a mask when entering the office. Our team members will do the same at all times for your protection.
Toothbrushing – Our toothbrushing stations are temporarily closed, but you may use them to wash your hands. Please brush your teeth before coming to your appointment.
Broken Braces – Due to the preparation and type of instruments needed to repair broken braces, we might not be able to repair them unless we are scheduled for that procedure. Let us know before you arrive if something is loose or broken.
Capacity – We are scheduling at about 25% of capacity to reduce the number of patients in the office at one time. In most cases, we will have only one or two patients in the office at a time. We are postponing any in-person visits that can be accomplished by virtual examination, or visits that aren’t critical (such as annual retainer checks).
Air Purifiers – HEPA air purifiers have been added to the treatment area in both Manalapan and Freehold offices.
Payments – We encourage you to sign up for monthly autopay via credit card, or to call in your payments by phone to reduce contact.
Virtual Exams – We are offering free virtual consultations for new patients! We can give you most of the information you need before you even step foot in the office!
We are confident that our infection control procedure is comprehensive and provides a safe environment for orthodontic procedures. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We are hopeful that some of these changes are only temporary. These are strange times for everyone, but we will get through this together!
